This would have been hilarious!
According to the Pink Floyd news site Brain Damage, there were rumors in early December of a promotional stunt to celebrate the release of 'The Simpsons Movie' on DVD in the UK. The plan was recreate the cover of Floyd's album 'Animals', only this time the pig flying past the Battersea Power Station was going to be the one and only SPIDER-PIG. Either it happened and nobody got photographic evidence (not likely), or it was just a rumor that didn't pan out.
Since we're on the subject of Pink Floyd rumors, Roger Waters is scheduled to appear on Saturday Night Live February 2nd. With the writer's strike still going, rumors are flying that the entire broadcast will feature Waters and his band performing 'Dark Side of the Moon' in full. I would be really surprised if this happened. It would be cool, but I don't see any way it could be done.
