This week's FEVER mix is a preview of what you will hear at STRANGE WAYS at Strangeways. We're both amazed at the response for this night, and hope that the turnout is just as massive. See you September 9th.
*We Think We Might Actually Know what Good Music Is.
*Dallas needs a blog that doesn't bash shit all the time!
*Because if we don't who the fuck will?
*Cause we enjoy pain, straight up purple nurpels.
*Cause it gets El Macho the ladies (Macho: "No it doesn't"), and MŮDI already has a hot lady.
*William Shatner's toupee told us in a dream.
*My mother beat me with a slinky
*I huffed too much glue in the 80s
*We apparently like the city we live in called Dallas
*Did I say we like music?
WHAT IS FEVER?
Before you cooled out, before your flashes were hot, before you disqoed, and well before the days of the hipster rsvp, there was FEVER.
FEVER was started many moons ago at The Cavern by DJ MŮDI with a shitty Peavy PA system, one home stereo bass speaker (that would cut off when it got too hot), and a laptop that crashed two years later. DJ MŮDI can say that he was one of the first DJs in Dallas to play his sets through his laptop before the hipster revolution caught on to this. MŮDI decided to change the name of the night up to UP! because the owner didn't like FEVER. After one year UP! became FEVER again, and the rest is history. Well, almost. We haven't even touched on Macho yet.
DJ MŮDI kept it going for about 1 year before bringing on his partner DJ EL MACHO. He invited Macho in for a guest appearance in the summer of 2005, and a remarkable partnership was born. Soon people caught wind, and the duo was moved to Fridays. MŮDI and Macho left The Cavern for Fallout Lounge in the summer of 2006 for a three year run of legendary nights which put Fallout Lounge on the map. MŮDI & Macho decided it was time to shift gears in July of 2009, and brought the night to a close. But like Brett Favre, they just don't know when to say "enough is enough". So, FEVER returned for a short run at a spot in Oak Cliff called Tradewinds Social Club. While the FEVER name might disappear, you can be sure that MŮDI and Macho will still be seen around town playing music that people like to hear.
