Coachella lineup expected later today
The lineup for this year's Coachella festival, as well as details regarding the east coast version later this summer, will be announced at a news conference in Mexico City later today. The Verve will be one of the headliners, and Portishead, The Raconteurs, My Morning Jacket (zzzzz...), The Breeders, and Rilo Kiley have already been confirmed. I really hope that this isn't a one-off US appearance for Ashcroft and Co., and that a tour is in the works. Then we have to hope that tour plays somewhere close to Texas. The Verve last set foot here ten years ago when they played Houston.
Looks like the press conference is going to start around 5pm, so I'll have more later tonight as it becomes available.

Does anyone else think this lineup seems a bit... dull? Don't get me wrong, there are some great acts on the bill, but most of it just seems a bit forced. It's almost as if the organizers booked every act that Pitchfork gave a glowing review last year. Oh, you've got MIA and Man Man playing. Aren't you just so hip and with it! Hopefully the All Points West lineup will be somewhat of an improvement.
