The Dears - Degeneration Street

The Dears are back.

From the opening bars of the soulful "Omega Dog", you know you're in for something special on the band's fifth studio offering, Degeneration Street. Murray Lightburn, Natalia Yanchak, and their gang of talented musicians are in top form, and have crafted a full album that is nothing short of a masterpiece. Whether it be the aggressive rock heard in "Stick w/Me Kid", or a heart-wrenching ballad like "Lamentation" or "Galactic Tides", each song, in it's own unique way, is epic. That has always been the band's M.O, as Lightburn and company have never done anything halfway.

If you're anything like me, you will listen to this album, and wonder where it has been all your life. All I could say when it was over was, "Wow". In the previously mentioned "Galactic Tides", Murray Lightburn sings, "We're running out of songs to sing." There are many of us who hope this is never the case.

Purchase Degeneration Street from their label, Dangerbird Records.
