WE ARE BACK

It's funny. Every time we say we're going to maintain this blog, something happens which causes us to get away from it. Since you last heard from us in July, life has been happening. The both of us have experienced a lot of change, and all for the positive. Here's a quick rundown to bring you up to speed:

FEVER is still going strong. Our last event at Tradewinds was a very successful bash on New Year's Eve. We're on the lookout for new locations. We will always have a home at Tradewinds, and we will always be loyal to them, but our goal is to be playing every week at different locations. With a new audience every week, the night never becomes stale. We also plan on bringing guest DJs in with us from time to time. It's always interesting to bring in that new dynamic.

MUDI has been busy with his new musical project, InterMagnetic. What started as a one man project has expanded to two, with MUDI's old Blackheart Society bandmate Ben Fleming contributing guitar. Look for new music, as well as live performances later in 2011.

Joel (me) is simply DJ Joel now, having dropped the El Macho name. It ran its course. I've always tried to put the music first when I DJ, so continuing to have a gimmick name wasn't helping the cause. Aside from FEVER, I'm still playing Britpop and Indie under the NEW ART RIOT name. Hopefully that will take off this year. Things are looking up on the music front too, as I'll be heading back into the studio this year to work on some new songs with my band, Modakai.

So that's the last seven or eight months in a nutshell. As I said, life has been good. Here in 2011, we're going to continue to do what we do, which is bring you great music and bring you a good time. We'll see you soon.
